It is a new generation filter that has been radically re-shaped for greater performance. I opened the box up and removed all the packing material and got the directions and read how to put the pitcher together then I washed all the parts except for the electronic meter that is in the top of the pitcher; you can't wash that. The meter is a micro computer that uses a 3-way measurement including volume of water, water quality and time to tell you exactly when it is time to change the filter to a new one. I went there to get the wet n wild polish that was on sale for .99 cent buy one get one 50% off and when we got there they had other wet n wild nail polish on sale for .69 cent each. I used 9 manufacturers coupons for 1.00 off of 1 wet n wild nail polish. I love wet n wild nail polish it works good and goes on smoothly and dries pretty quick too. If you put on a top clear coat after you put the polish on it last longer on your nails.
